About

“The Straight Skinny” was commonly used in conversations between U.S. Navy shipmates.  I imagine it is still common.  If you asked someone for the Straight Skinny on a subject, you were asking for good, truthful information – not a rumor (scuttlebutt) or a guess.  Example: “What’s the straight skinny on when the promotion list will be published?”

I’m a 70 year old guy who retired from the U. S. Navy and a major aerospace company.  I am married to a great gal and we have great kids and grand-kids.  We live in Arizona now and are having the time of our life – or at least we will when I get my knees fixed.

I don’t quite know what I’ll do with this blog, but I’m sure I’ll think of something.  I hope, over the course of doing this, I won’t offend too many people, but I can’t worry too much about that given the name of this blog.  Who knows, I may even make some smile and have fun reading.

I’ve developed and published websites, but I am new to WordPress, so all of this will get better as I learn it.

Get set, go.

This is one of my favorite pictures, and I didn’t take it.  It was provided by my Cousin Cindy McKenna’s friend, Dave Mersereau.
