I MOVED TO COOPERSTOWN AS A FIFTH GRADER IN 1936. ONE OF THE FIRST PERSONS I MET WAS BUD JOHNSON. HE HAD A BIKE AND PERMITTED ME TO RIDE IT. WE BECAME GOOD FRIENDS/ BUD WAS A GOOD ATHLETE AND PLAYED ALL SPORTS AND WAS A MEMBER OF THE AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL TEAM. I HAVE MANY FOND MEMORIES OF HIM WHEN HE LIVED IN COOPERSTOWN. HIS BROTHER IN LAW, CLARENCE NJAA WORKED FOR ARNESON LODER AS A PARTS MAN AND ALSO WORKED FOR ME AT LODER IMPLEMENT UNTIL HIS RETIREMENT. MY WIFE PHYLLIS AMD I HAVE THE JOHNSON FAMILY IN OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS DURING THIS DIFFICULT TIME.
