Brita "Betsey" Johnson, John Johnson's only sister, was born in Ofverhogdal, Sweden on October 12. 1881. On December 22, 1915, she married Johan Albin Ost in Hannaford, ND. Albin was born in Marberget, Sweden on January 2, 1883. Betsey had inherited a quarter of land next to the home quarter on Section 20. That is where Albin and Betsey made their home. Times were very hard, so buildings on their land, which started out to be a shop and garage, ended up as their living quarters. When Betsey was expecting their first child, Evelyne, she went to Hannaford to stay with her brother, Olaf, and his wife, Bessie. Albin would ski down the 15 miles every so often to check on things. Albin and Betsey's last two children, Elmer and Ellen, were born on the Ost farm, and the doctor would come out from Cooperstown to attend the births.
