[This is copied exactly as she gave it to me.  Normally I think one would mix the dry ingredients together, cream together the margarine & sugar, then add the egg, then possibly alternate adding the liquid & the dry ingredients.  Her directions regarding the soda are a bit unclear.  She doesn't say how much hot water.  Do you have this recipe somewhere?  It could use some clarification.
