Margaret was born in Cooperstown, ND on April 7, 1916.  She married Harry (Curt) Curtis Lear of Brainerd, MN in Minneapolis on July 2, 1938.

"Margaret attended the Houghton one-room country school along with her brothers and sisters.  She was promoted from first to third grade, "I suspect thanks to Ann teaching me to read pre-school!"  She graduated in 1933 from Cooperstown High School.  She worked as a waitress at the U of M campus and at the tea room in the Duluth Glass Block store, but has been  a "full time homemaker since 1940".

Curt attended schools in Brainerd, MN, Moline, IL, Shreveport, LA and graduated from Duluth Central High School.  He attended the University of Minnesota School of Forestry and became a state registered civil engineer.  He worked as an electrician on frigates built for use in WW II and then had a long railroad career, "from which he retired as superintendent of a branch of the Canadian National Railroad.""  The Johnson-Helgsten Family by Marilyn Fischer.

Curt and Margaret had four children:

Curt died on September 29, 2000.

Margaret lives in White Bear Lake, MN.  She is an avid reader and enjoys corresponding with relatives and old friends.
